About me:  50-something, displaced (sounds much more pitiful than “unemployed”) worker, trying to discover the meaning of (my) life. Parent of 2 grown sons, 0 daughters, and 1 daughter-in-law I have yet to meet. Eldest son married while living and working in Japan. Younger son gets the “blessing” of having Mom nearby. Insert smiley face, here. I am the firstborn of a total of 9, all of whom are lovelier/handsomer, smarter and nicer than me. I love making up stuff and I hope you will find some amusement and maybe learn something every now and then. I really miss my journalistic inspirations:  Betty Hansen, former column author with the Saginaw News, and the wonderful, late Erma Bombeck, column author of about a gazillion newspapers. They inspired me to see the humor in heartbreak, where possible, and learn something when it’s not. I will never “fill” those big shoes, but I’m happy to admire the footprints they left behind.
